At the Neyland Learning Resource Centre, the aim is to look after the individual needs of the child within a nurturing environment. All pupils that attend the LRC have Additional Learning/Complex Needs, and through low class numbers, an experienced and trained staff group, and flexible curriculum, we endeavour to provide each child the best possible experience for the duration of their secondary school time.
We work alongside the placing mainstream comprehensive school, who are updated with the progress of each child. We access the National Tests, and have a variety of vocational certificates for pupils in Key Stage 4. We work hard to develop the independent skills of the individual pupils, and to prepare them for adult life.
We work alongside Pembrokehire College and Careers Wales to ensure that the pupils receive as many opportunities as they would in their mainstream school. We have an excellent relationship with our parents and work alongside them to provide the best possible care and outcomes for their child.
We look at independent living skills for the future and provide a curriculum that ensures the pupils are prepared as much as possible for future, independent lives. This includes access to work experience and external experiences, such as shopping and paying bills to equip them for post 16.
